Post-doc position in an NCN OPUS-30 grant

Project title: Predicting clinical outcomes from bacterial genomes

  We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a project aiming to validate genomic markers that predict clinical outcomes in bacterial infections. The position combines molecular microbiology and mechanistic experimental work to test and characterise candidate determinants of infection severity, using a well-established insect infection model and links to a large clinical isolate collection.
  We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, or a related field, with strong hands-on expertise in molecular microbiology and biochemistry. Experience with protein expression and purification is an advantage.
  The position offers the opportunity to work at the interface of clinical microbiology, molecular biology, and computational genomics, within an international collaborative network.
  The position will be available from January/February 2027 for 4 years. The successful candidate will be employed at the Department of Bacterial Molecular Genetics, Faculty of Biology; salary: 160,000 PLN/year total employment costs.
