An International Conference „The Fourth Lichen Photobiont Workshop”

The Fourth Lichen Photobiont Workshop, an international conference organized by the staff of the Laboratory of Lichenology and Experimental Mycology of the Department of Plant Taxonomy and Nature Conservation, took place at the Faculty of Biology, University of Gdańsk, on 17-20 September 2024. The workshop focused on the latest trends in the research of photobionts, the symbiotic partners of mycobionts, which together form lichenized fungi, commonly known as lichens. The workshop programme included a scientific part with an oral session (22 presentations) and a poster session (13 posters were presented). On the following two days there were two scientific excursions to Hel and Babi Dół. The workshop was attended by 46 people - employees of scientific institutions from Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Spain, Iceland, Germany, Poland, Italy and the USA. A book with abstracts will be published on Research Gate.
