This prestigious event, dedicated to early‑career researchers - from bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students to scientists who obtained their doctoral degree within the last five years - brought together participants from across Europe.

An International Conference „The Fourth Lichen Photobiont Workshop”

The Fourth Lichen Photobiont Workshop, an international conference organized by the staff of the Laboratory of Lichenology and Experimental Mycology of the Department of Plant Taxonomy and Nature Conservation, took place at the Faculty of Biology, University of Gdańsk, on 17-20 September 2024. The workshop focused on the latest trends in the research of photobionts, the symbiotic partners of mycobionts, which together form lichenized fungi, commonly known as lichens.

We invite you to register and actively participate in the first Palaeobiological Conference at our Department! Fossil Record in Resins and Sediments Conference will be held on May 23-26, and organized on the 25th anniversary of the Museum of Amber Inclusions. All interested parties are invited. Employees, PhD students and students of the University of Gdansk (registering with the UG e-mail address) will be exempt from conference fees.

LIFE for dunes project conference

On Friday, 3rd of February 2023, an online conference took place organized by botanists of the Department of Plant Taxonomy and Nature Conservation, Faculty of Biology, University of Gdańsk. It concerned problems related to the protection of coastal dune habitats. The purpose of the conference was to establish an international consortium with a view to submitting to  finance activities in the field of dune habitat monitoring and restoration on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea.
